Job Roles and Responsibilities

The Mechanical Assistant Manager has overall responsibility for managing and leading Project activities mainly related to Design, Technical support during procurement and Execution to achieve excellence at the Project Execution level. S/he works with the Entire Project Team consisting of employer Project & Operations Team, Consultants, Contractors, Vendors and others. S/he controls the project budgets.


Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all Design related activities in all phases of the entire Project (Design, Construction / Installation, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Stabilization)

  2. Control Project Budget and spends. Ensure project is delivered within approved budget, On time and with right Quality

  3. Review all Engineering Drawings and Datasheets submitted by Engineering Consultants, Plant vendors, Suppliers and Contractors

  4. Ensure Standardization of Engineering practice throughout Company

  5. Validate and Ensure code compliance on the installations

  6. Review of designs of pipeline and their interface with the process and services.

  7. Review and Analyze any other project technical documentation.

  8. Solve technical problems arising during project Construction, Testing & Commissioning phase

  9. To Participate in all Evaluation exercise involving tender and quotations.

  10. Support in Preparation and design of all construction bid documents.

  11. To carryout any task related to Cost Estimates

  12. Provide support to all purchase activities and evaluation of all vendor submittals.

  13. Inspect all mechanical equipment and analyze all equipment and ensure adherence to Standards and Design.

  14. Lead and Manage group of Engineers

  15. Coordinate with various teams to administer all assignments.

  16. Interpret all codes and maintain overall performance of all Mechanical activities.

  17. Support the site safety management team in implementation of the Project’s SHE Management plan

  18. To ensure the design, purchase and installation of assets with appropriate monitoring and management throughout their life cycle. Leveraging maintenance performance indicator, shape maintenance programmes by providing technical input to maximize asset utilization.

  19. To manage technical team to provide service to Engineering department, and through continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and technology, ensure effective performance by technician through appropriate training to deliver equipment to meet required production plans and all standard for safety, health and environment.

  20. Coordinate, provide work direction and oversee the implementation of the below sections activity in order to improve efficiency in its part.

  21. To Lead group of workforce towards achieving 99% Plants availability and to ensure Reliability of Plant & Machineries at all time for production

  22. Having Experience with World Class Manufacturing concepts and its implementation

  23. Arrange the schedule of maintenance of machinery, equipment, and production facilities so that the production process can run smoothly.

  24. Managing Maintenance and Repairs budgets

  25. Managing Engineering stores and Spare Part management

  26. Seeking more cost-efficient ways of reducing and working methods.

  27. To Enhance equipment Uptime thru Reliability Centered/ Condition based maintenance techniques

  28. Managing site led Engineering Projects

Skills and Key Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree from a recognized University is essential.

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Engineering Design, Construction and Overall Project Execution for Greenfield and/or Brownfield projects

  • Broad familiarity with different construction techniques, their risks and practical mitigations.

  • Experience in Project & Engineering management of large scale projects and factories, with multiple contractor groups and a diverse and local workforce.

  • Local Authority Requirements.

  • Management of Budgets and Cost Engineering

  • Experience in all stages of the Project execution, Construction & Engineering activities

  • Oleo Chemical & Refinery Industry Experience

  • Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management

  • Site Contractor Management

  • Construction Risk Assessment

  • Project Execution / Management

  • Excellent knowledge of World Class Manufacturing practices

  • Experience of managing high value budgets within a project or operational environment

  • Fluent in English Language and, preferably Indonesian
